July 2010

VOLUME 54

July is hopping.  I'm finally home from the many "vacations" I've had this summer with my kids.  With the husband and older kids working, it's just been me and little guys flitting from East Coast to West Coast and back again.  In between trips, I've had releases coming out my ears.  Usually the summer is fairly slow for me, but this year, due to odd timing, I have had a lot of releases coming out at the end of June/month of July.  So let's get to it...

COMING SOON / NEWS

  • Julian's Jeopardy released June 29th (so I'm counting it in July).

  • Seriana Found released July 5th from Total E-Bound.

  • And last but not least, my first release with Ellora's Cave, Namesake, comes out July 21st.  Set in the near future, it's a story about one woman and a pack of Ravagers, werewolf-like shifters from an alternate universe. Sounds weird, but it's fun and sexy. And not for the faint of heart.

WORKS IN PROGRESS

  • Gunnar's Game, the fourth of my Dawn Endeavor books for Loose Id, is currently undergoing edits.

  • Foxy Lady edits are also ongoing.

  • I'm planning to start a new Cougar Falls book next week.  Grady's story, one of Burke's brothers first introduced in Rachel's Totem.  As with the others, this will be a standalone work.  So you don't have to read the others to "get" the characters.

EXCERPT

Take a look at this brand new, unedited excerpt for Gunnar's Game.  It's R, so be warned...click here.

RECOMMENDED READS

Not that Maya Banks really needs the promotion, since the author is on top of her game right now and writing winners left and right.  But I was curious to see what she'd do with the sequel to the very successful Colters' Woman.  Well, she did it again. Another hit!  In Colters' Lady (ebook and print), the three sons of the first foursome (from Colters' Woman) find someone to love.  There's drama, love, sex, anguish, and some very emotional scenes in this book you won't want to miss. You won't be disappointed.  Now I'm dying to read Colters' Daughter.  (No release date on that one yet.)

I hate to be so predictable, but Shelly Laurenston is an auto-buy for me. Beast Behaving Badly (print) is another terrific read. (Has she written a bad one?)  The characters are still quirky, the shapeshifters hilarious.  There's danger, rollerblading, annoyed ice-skating polar bears and frenetic wild dogs.  You only have to read one of Laurenston's books to become addicted.  And no, I'm not getting any kickbacks from plugging her books. (haha) I just like them a lot.

Books I can't wait to read:

  • Nalini Singh's Bonds of Justice

  • Jayne Ann Krentz's, w/a Jayne Castle, Midnight Crystal

  • Lora Leigh's Styx's Storm

  • Sabrina Jeffries's A Hellion in Her Bed

  • Christine Feehan's Dark Peril
